What Types of Animals Eat Wakefield Peanuts Wakefield peanuts are a popular snack amongst many squirrels, birds, chickens, ducks, geese, deer, chipmunks, foxes, raccoons and other outdoor wildlife. Roast or Boil Before Consumption Our 10lb inshell peanuts are USDA inspected and meet all requirements for animal-grade peanuts. These peanuts are safe for animals to consume and a high-quality mix of medium and animal-size peanuts. Storage of Raw Peanuts To maintain best quality, store peanuts in a cool, dry place. For short term storage (a few days) keep at or below 60 F; for extended storage keep at 40 F or below (Peanuts keep fresh indefinitely stored in a tightly closed container in the freezer).
